Recruitment calendar

One timeline per state for the cycle running now; solid is a date from a live or archived campaign page, dashed is our projection from last year, and the dots are what r/ausjdocs reported. Each campaign opens for its dates, source and caveat. 10 campaign rows in all (10 confirmed). Subscribe (.ics).

How the NT cycle actually works, in 3 mechanics from r/ausjdocs (not policy)
Two regional campaigns, term-line preferencing lore 2 authors · single report
Top End and Central Australia run separate campaigns on jobs.nt.gov.au and applicants preference term lines/streams rather than generic rotations. The corpus contains almost no first-hand NT campaign reporting: 6 timing events across four years.
Recruits late — the national backstop lore 3 authors
The consistent advice to people left without a job after every other state has closed is to email the NT, which 'tends to recruit later in the year and should respond if you e-mail'. The trade-off named is a 2–3 year commitment to complete mandatory rotations.
Chronically short lore 4 authors
Alice Springs and Darwin are repeatedly named alongside Cairns/Townsville as places 'always crying out for doctors', including for out-of-cycle and mid-year starts on flexible contracts.

Dots are the median stated date of the hand-read reports the encoders matched to that campaign, weighted by how many comments said so; where none were matched, the median posting date of comments saying a campaign for that state opened, closed, interviewed or offered in the same calendar year — a sanity check on the official date, not a date. Dates drift a week or two each year.

When ads actually closed

Closing months of 5 closed PGY2+ listings since 2023, by employer and specialty

"Usually closes" is the modal month and its share; under three ads and we don't call it. An ad re-advertised three times counts three times. Outside NSW the record starts when we began scraping each portal.
