About the role

Take the next step in your career with Eastern Health. We are seeking HMO3+ doctors to join our team for Term 4, commencing November 2026.

Whether you're pursuing Emergency Medicine, Surgery, General Practice or General Medicine, or seeking full-time employment between training years, our General and Surgical HMO opportunities offer valuable clinical exposure, hands-on learning and dedicated support to help shape your career.

You’ll gain experience across diverse specialties and complex clinical presentations, with opportunities to develop your:

Clinical decision-making and judgement

Procedural and operative skills

Patient assessment and management

Multidisciplinary teamwork and communication

Handover, prioritisation and discharge planning

You will be supported by experienced supervisors, structured education programs, and dedicated medical and surgical education leaders within a collaborative environment that values learning, development and wellbeing.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

Current AHPRA registration

Completion of PGY2 and eligibility to commence work at HMO3 level or higher

Strong time management and prioritisation skills

A commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care

Excellent communication and organisational skills

The ability to work effectively within a diverse multidisciplinary team

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice) . Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment. Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
