Objectively I got pretty lucky with a metro hospital that has a good reputation for teaching and culture, but I’m still a bit bummed because I was really hoping for RPA.
I recently heard about an intern at RPA who did a external jugular cannulation in ED with out supervision, got in trouble then did it again.
Going to pull you up on RPA ICU - they are extremely supportive for resitters but it does require the trainees to put in the extra time that is literally *offered* to them by the senior medical staff.

Lastly, getting a reg job the following year in Sydney will be easier from RPA, and they will have had very useful insight into the culture at RPA and whether they want to stay there as a registrar, or move elsewhere.
If you’re happy moving back and forth then I’d take the Wagga job, especially if an Anesthesia term matters to you, otherwise I’d go RPA

The two things that would impact me would be No anaesthetics term at RPA vs relocating to Wagga and making friends there only to then move back to the city after a year or 2 for reg jobs.
There are INR Fellows working at Westmead/Royal North Shore/Royal Prince Alfred/Prince of Wales/Liverpool/ in Sydney, and John Hunter in regional NSW.
Then the prep course about 3 months before the exam was useful too - either RPA, Deltamed or Dunedin.

If you work at the legal equivalent of RPA/RMH the firm is pretty likely to pay for all of your further specialization, even Masters degrees as long as you stay.
