I’m hoping to apply to BPT at one of the big 4 in Sydney (specifically POW or RNSH as I have lots of family in those areas + career prospects).
Senior doctors lead psychiatry training in major teaching hospitals, including the Prince of Wales, Royal Prince Alfred, St George, Northern Beaches, Macquarie and Campbelltown hospitals in Sydney, and Lismore Base and Wyong hospitals in regional NSW.

St George Sydney is said to have better supportive work culture as compared to Monash Health which is rather a chaotic system.

I got the impression registrars were more busy at St George and had lower pass rates for BPT (but happy to be corrected).
While they’re all in Haymarket celebrating restaurant openings right now, St George medical colleagues are marching to Minns’ office - demanding respect, fair pay & safer conditions for doctors & patients in NSW public hospitals.
For St George/Sutherland most interns do hard terms and get worked like a mule regardless of which hospital you're at, expect hours upon hours of unrostered overtime, residents get the cushy one admit/discharge a week terms.

Anyone who interviewed for St George BPT second round?
I was under the impression that job applications were around middle of the year, but I just did a random search online and noticed that St George have their application close date for the surg skills rmo job in like 3-4 weeks time.
St George is also a decent place for BPT - it’s busy, and the written prep is a bit piecemeal, but the clinical prep program is awesome, with the most supportive dedicated bosses.
I used a pan-retinal lens in my part -1 exam after learning how to use after locoming in the Sydney Eye hospital.

In my years, people either did two ED terms or got one rural term (unless they specifically asked for more), and then in general you’ll be assigned a few terms between St George and Sutherland.
