I applied interstate for internship and got FSH which was lower on my preferences as I have not heard much good about the hospital culture.
My husband has just accepted a job at SCGH, but I was hoping to apply for an ED job at RPH or FSH as I’ve heard they’re more supportive.
No claim reached the three-author bar.
I was an RMO at FSH when I first moved across from the uk.
I did internship + RMO at FSH not too long ago and the culture has only improved since then.
Not sure which hospital you’ve been offered for WA internship as that will massively change the advice as some of them like FSH let u pick and choose each individual rotation so u can make your perfect matrix, whereas others like RPH have predetermined 5 term matrixes.
Generally speaking FSH is the worst hospital in Perth to work at from a leave/rosters/morale/wellbeing/support/MWF POV 😅
FSH is newer and fancier, but has a slightly more toxic medical workforce department in terms of leave etc.
Might hijack this - Live very close to FSH (under 10 mins drive in morning traffic), but found pretty bad teaching culture and loved RPH.
I’ve worked at all 3 of the Perth tertiary hospitals and FSH is by far the worst of the 3, mainly due to a lack of any culture other than do your work and go home.
No claim reached the three-author bar.
Again run by each individual hospital ICU (FSH, RPH, SCGH) with the preference often given to their ICU resis and registrars, but with chucking your name on a waitlist
I preferenced FSH first and received no interview invitations.
No claim reached the three-author bar.
FSH Intern - after 6 months I haven’t had any issues with pay.
No claim reached the three-author bar.
I worked at FSH last year and I had such a hard time taking time off, had applied for leave 3 separate occasions and rejected all of them as no leave relievers , one to do a College entry exam and I had to find my own leave relievers.
