Latrobe Regional Health is looking for ICU/Anaesthetics Registrar to join our growing team on a full time (86hrs per fortnight) fixed term until 06 February 2028.

This position is CICM Foundation, rural and limited general (Gen 6) accredited and offers Intensive Care Medicine training, comprising 6 months of C6-accrediated core ICU training and 6 months of accredited anaesthetics training. Seeking to appoint a phase 2 Intensive care trainee. The role of the ICU/Anaesthetic Registrar is to provide day-to-day medical care for patients under the direction of senior medical staff and also work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide safe and high-quality patient care. The ICU/Anaesthetic Department is focused on providing quality care to the patients and wider community. In ICU/Anaesthetic you will be provided with many exciting opportunities and experience a broad range of clinical practices and caseloads. You will experience more one-on-one time with supervising Consultants and also see a rich range of presentations and be provided with many educational opportunities.

The role of the ICU/Anaesthetics Registrar is to:

Deliver day-to-day patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment under supervision of senior medical staff.

Coordinate care within a multidisciplinary team and ensure timely communication and clinical handover.

Undertake pre-admission assessments and manage perioperative and critical care patients.

Participate in departmental education programs and provide supervision and teaching to junior medical staff and students.

Contribute to clinical audits, research activities, and initiatives that enhance patient safety and quality of care.

Participate in the on-call roster in accordance with safe working hours provisions.

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent

Registration or be eligible for registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Ideally CICM Trainee, Phase 1 or 2

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member
