Of the 3, Wagga is probably the best and also has a rads SRMO position so if you're really keen on rural that's probably the best of the ones you've listed.
I'd love to set up somewhere smaller like Coffs Harbour, Toowoomba, Wagga, Orange, Christchurch, Wellington etc and not move around whilst unaccredited, obviously that changes if you get on and you'll be rotated within the training hub and that's fine, but keen to hear if anyone has heard it working out for…

Staff are long term - I mean, it's largely servicing the towns around Albury/Wagga and while they are proper towns there's little decent work.
From what I’ve read, Wagga seems like the strongest for career development; Port MQ seems to offer the best lifestyle; Orange seems like a middle ground, being the closest to family.
I'm not sure if Wagga also hires their own trainees - best to reach out directly but I'm sure they're rather have someone who wants to live and work in their community long term.

If you do a rural placement at Bega, Wagga, Cooma etc you might get some exposure to ICU and anaesthetics, but not a formal term in those areas
The two things that would impact me would be No anaesthetics term at RPA vs relocating to Wagga and making friends there only to then move back to the city after a year or 2 for reg jobs.

Wagga is accredited with CICM for training both before and after the CICM primary exam (can complete 6 months core ICU time there for advanced training post exam, as well as your medical, rural, acute med, anaesthetic and paediatric requirements)

Wagga Wagga radiology was great - they pay a bucket load of money to have everything reported privately so all ED scans were reported in less than an hour as executive have strict KPIs they put on the radiologists.

If you’re happy moving back and forth then I’d take the Wagga job, especially if an Anesthesia term matters to you, otherwise I’d go RPA
