So far have heard of formal offers for Ipswich, Rockhampton, Mackay, and interview offers for Caboolture.
I know that Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Bundaberg Hospital, Mackay Base Hospital, had PHO spots still available post recruitment this year for 2024 as of 20/10/23.

Rocky and Mackay are the last I heard that still had PHO.

In Mackay (which isn't even that rural) someone infarcted right in front of me and I got to intubate them, while my colleagues on a plastic surgery elective in Brisbane never touched a single patient and at the end of their rotation no one on the team remembered their name.
If you want to do anaesthetics, the Northern QARTS rotation is usually a bit easier to get on to, especially if they already know you, so starting in Mackay wouldn’t hurt your chances of getting on to QARTS

Mackay region has a ton of rural/regional hospitals, and I don't expect them to have training or teaching facilities, but Mackay Base at least should, but no, we farm it all out to Brisbane and get BMP's on 3 year stints before they go back Metro (100% so far for all those who we provided accommodation to).
