LARGEST single intern site in QLD: 107 general intern positions for 2027 (zero QRG). Also the largest RMO employer - 840 selections in 2026.
Matched by employer and hospital name (6 terms), hospital town and platform tenant within QLD; ads printed under a parent body may be missing and similar-named neighbours may leak in. Interns hidden.
113 substantive mentions from 85 authors, 2022–2026, hand-read by theme. Community view, not policy; stance splits only at n ≥ 30; a claim under three authors is a single report, not a verdict. Retrieved 12 Sept 2026.
Qld intern here, thats the case for all of us here at the gold coast health network.
Logan has full year SHOs and 6 month JHO positions (the department there is excellent at supporting people to get on), GCUH has a few, as do IPH and SCUH.
No claim reached the three-author bar.
GCUH RMO position for QLD campaign offers out!
Hi all, I'm a doctor working in NSW and am being offered a 6 month Urology + 6 month Gen surg PHO job at Gold Coast Health.
Personally love the Gold Coast lifestyle, but have heard some negativity from a couple of prior network trainees - including poor exam pass rates, lack of a teaching culture and a hesitancy to pay overtime.
Going to plug the Gold Coast university hospital - I’m probably biased because I’ve done most of my training with this service but they have an excellent training environment with a large service containing a great deal of varied rotations.
The bosses IME at GCUH were great and had a more open and supportive attitude to their Regs.

It’s been a while since I’ve worked at Gold Coast and Robina Hospitals, but I found the clinical and admin teams in emergency, psychiatry, rehab, surgery and medicine to all be reasonable and supportive.
in contrast to PA vs gold coast, gold coast i heard from my colleague who is working there as BPT found more supportive.

None, but I guess you may envy the salary they pay @ Robina Hospital when its just down the road.
LNP was in power from 2011 until last year and was absolutely the reason why an intern in Tweed Heads potentially makes less in base salary than a receptionist in GCUH.

I would recommend the AdvDRANZCOG if working as an Unaccredited Reg, if you want a backup plan and really keen on Obs - that way you can transition to being a GP Obs in regional/rural settings (note Gold Coast University Hospital recently had a GP Obs role at the main site).
I’m currently a pgy 2 psych RMO interstate looking to relocate to Brisbane, Gold Coast, or potentially Sunshine Coast for the next intake.
GCUH is so proud of their teaching for primaries and fellows they have a big honour roll for "primaries passed at GCUH" and "fellowships passed at GCUH" which your name goes up on when you pass.
