Royal Hobart Hospital · Repatriation Centre Hobart · Peacock Centre · Statewide Mental Health Services (South)
CORRECTS THE BRIEF: do NOT scrape www.jobs.tas.gov.au (Cloudflare-challenged Squiz Matrix shell). careers.jobs.tas.gov.au is NOT challenged and has a working sitemap - the best TAS ingestion path. Intern and RMO recruitment is STATEWIDE: one application ranks Hobart/Launceston/North West, so one ad covers all three regions. Job URL pattern /jobs/{title}-{reqid}-{region}-tas-australia.
No open PGY2+ doctor jobs matched to Department of Health Tasmania — South right now.
No closed history matched either: either this employer's portal is not scraped yet or its ads print under a name we do not match. Main campaigns for 2027 closed in June.
Matched by employer and hospital name (5 terms), hospital town and platform tenant within TAS; ads printed under a parent body may be missing and similar-named neighbours may leak in. Interns hidden.

I ama non-BPT RMO at RHH and previously worked at NWRH; I’ve found both to be supportive workplaces, RHH is busier and more acute.
RHH has excellent specimen Variety for its specimen Volume (2023 was ~#10,500 histo Cases), but the AP Registrars are currently expected to do Cut-up and biopsy Transfers, even though biopsy Transfers are tedious and done by Scientists in many other Labs (including LGH and Royal Adelaide Hospital).

RHH does 4 terms per year, LGH and NWRH do 5 terms per year.
The RHH AP Consultants are otherwise all nice and knowledgeable (albeit very busy), and there is an excellent slide set Collection in the multiheader Room, that is very good for AP Part 1 slide exam Preparation.

Tassie has historically been okay for getting intern jobs, though you will more or less be limited to either LGH or NWRH as an outside applicant (the UTAS grads typically oversubscribe RHH).
Hi all, I have an interview for a mid-year entry med reg job at RHH and was hoping to see if anyone had an interview tips eg any curveball questions they ask, and more info on what the hospital is well known for, reasons I can use if they ask why I want to come to RRH.
No claim reached the three-author bar.
I think our interns at RHH are way overworked compared to my old rural hospital NWRH, but I’m biased because I loved being an intern and RMO at NWRH and I haven’t actually been an RMO at RHH.
