I'm trying to choose between a psych PHO job at Townsville vs Rockhampton.
Like Gladstone hospital was supporting IMGs with getting general registration, with several RMOs in ED (one who used to be an ENT surgeon).

So far have heard of formal offers for Ipswich, Rockhampton, Mackay, and interview offers for Caboolture.
I only have exp with rural Tas and Rockhampton - but I don't understand how you can possibly offer a legitimate training position there.

I don't know about enjoyable, but if you want self-reliant and minimally supervised then central Queensland will give you that.
I've actually heard the opposite, that the interns really enjoy Rockhampton and it's one of the best placed to intern, so far as interns go they are well protected for teaching times and supported 1:1 or 2:1 consultant ratios.

I mean honestly who is gonna want to completely uproot their life to locum in Rockhampton for example, for $100 an hour when you get literally already get that paid if you pick up OT at your hospital.
